Raining Jane

Raining Jane is the dynamic combination of four women (Mai Bloomfield, Becky Gebhardt, Chaska Potter and Mona Tavakoli) who have been making music together for nearly 2 decades. The power of their long history together is evident in their vibrant stage chemistry, their gracefully woven harmonies, and the impact they’ve been able to make through music around the world and at home in Los Angeles.

After releasing 4 records on their own, Raining Jane teamed up with long-time collaborator Jason Mraz and co-wrote and recorded his 2014 chart-topping album “Yes!” Raining Jane then toured the world with Mraz as his band, showcasing their diverse instrumentation of cello, cajon, sitar, guitar, bass, ukulele, lap steel, mandolin, and lush vocal harmonies. They have had songs placed in film and tv (Grey’s Anatomy, American Idol, So You Think You Can Dance, The Other Woman) and enjoy collaborating with other artists.

As hard-working women in the music industry, with a passion for community service and social justice, Raining Jane helped launch (and runs year-round) the “Rock n’ Roll Camp for Girls Los Angeles” in 2010. The non-profit is dedicated to empowering girls through music and has reached 1,000 girls, has drawn in hundreds of volunteers, and continues to provide a valuable, creative resource for Los Angeles.
