Don Grusin

Don Grusin, born and raised in Colorado, was influenced mightily by his violinist father from Latvia and his brother, pianist Dave Grusin.

He intended to be an economist but was influenced, also mightily, by friend Quincy Jones, who encouraged him to follow a musical path.

He did, happily, for more than 50 years. Based in Los Angeles, he enjoys being a composer, producer, arranger, and pianist, whose accolades include 3 Grammys, 25 solo albums, and hundreds of recordings with musical giants from all around the world.

Here are some of them: Gary Burton, Sergio Mendes, Peggy Lee, Patti Austin, Oscar Castro-Neves, Quincy Jones, Zoot Sims, Joe Pass, Sadao Watanabe, Minoru Mukaiya, Frank Quintero, Clark Terry, Brenda Russell, Ernie Watts, Pete & Sheila Escovedo, Gerald Albright, Bill Sharpe (of Shakatak), Jim Hall, Simone, Gilberto Gil, Flora Purim & Airto, Larry Carlton, Nelson Rangel, Charlie Bisharat, Harvey Mason, BΓ©la Fleck, Nathan East, Lee Ritenour, Abraham Laboriel, Alex AcuΓ±a, Ivan Lins, Milton Nascimento, Leon Ware, and his brother Dave.

He lives in Boulder, Colorado, and continues to record new music for domestic and international markets.
