After spending years as a solo artist and touring non-stop as support for Tori Amos, Counting Crows, and many others, Peter Stuart signed to Columbia Records in 1994. He formed the band Dog’s Eye’s View and headed to Woodstock, NY to record the the group’s debut album Happy Nowhere. Best known for the 1995 breakout hit “Everything Falls Apart,” the album also included “Small Wonders” and “The Prince’s Favorite Son.”

Dog’s Eye View spent the next 18 months on the road as “Everything Falls Apart” became an inescapable mid ’90s hit. In 1997, the band released their sophomore album Daisy which garnered significant airplay with the songs “Last Letter Home” and “Umbrella” (which was featured on the Clueless movie soundtrack).

After parting ways with Columbia, Peter released the solo album Propeller on Vanguard Records. In many ways, it was the culmination of what he was going for sonically and emotionally with the Dog’s Eye View records. Standout songs from Propeller include “Propeller Girl,” “Here I Am Here,” and the emotional closing track “Bring You Back,” about the death of Peter’s father.

Tomorrow Always Comes, the final album by Dog’s Eye View, was released in 2005. The LP contains the standout songs “Gone Like Yesterday” and “Answers.” Since retiring from making records and touring, Peter has stayed active in writing songs with other folks including Bon Jovi (“She’s a Mystery”) and Jason Mraz.
